Over the decades, it has become an innovator and pioneer, pushing academic boundaries and leading social change. Its four guiding principles form the foundation of its strategy: a genuine love of learning, creating new knowledge, embracing and celebrating the diversity of people and ideas, and caring for the environment.
The University of Reading was founded in 1892 and received its Royal Charter in 1926. The main campus, Whiteknights, is situated close to Reading town centre and hosts more than 23,000 students from over 160 different countries.
